# Thridy Version: 5.1 Last Updated: 2026-09-11 > Thridy is a free library of 13,341 high-quality 3D icons and design resources. > Designers, developers, startups, agencies and creators can browse every one > of these transparent PNG and WebP assets, download them free, and use them in > personal and commercial projects with a credit. Thridy also publishes > educational articles through the Thridy Journal covering AI, product design, > development and startups, and offers free browser-based image tools. ## MCP Server Thridy serves a Model Context Protocol endpoint for AI agents at https://mcp.thridy.com (Streamable HTTP; https://api.thridy.com/mcp also answers). A Thridy token from a paid account is required: create one at https://thridy.com/account/mcp and send it as a Bearer token. Tools: search_icons (find icons by subject), get_icon (download and embed URLs for one icon), list_categories. Full guide with per-client setup and limits: https://thridy.com/mcp. Add it to Claude Code, for example: claude mcp add --transport http thridy https://mcp.thridy.com --header "Authorization: Bearer " ## Site Overview Thridy provides: - 13,341 professionally designed 3D icons in one consistent style (both isometric and front-facing renders, sharing lighting and finish) - Transparent PNG and WebP downloads, free for personal and commercial use - 29 canonical categories, each subdivided into subject hubs - Fast keyword search with semantic matching - The Thridy Journal: articles on AI, design, development and startups - Free browser-based image compression and conversion tools - Custom 3D icon requests, usually fulfilled within minutes - A weekly email recap of new Journal stories The platform is continuously updated with new icons and articles. ## Main Pages - [Homepage](https://thridy.com): search and discover 3D assets - [Browse all icons](https://thridy.com/browse): the full gallery, paginated, every icon a real link - [Categories](https://thridy.com/categories): the 29-category map of the library - [Icon packs](https://thridy.com/pack): curated collections, each picked for a job rather than a subject - [Thridy Journal](https://thridy.com/blog): educational articles - [Tools](https://thridy.com/tools): the hub for every free Thridy tool - [Image Compressor](https://thridy.com/tools/compress): free browser-based image compression - [Image Converter](https://thridy.com/tools/convert): free browser-based image format conversion - [Image Resizer](https://thridy.com/tools/resize): free browser-based image resizing - [Image Cropper](https://thridy.com/tools/crop): free browser-based image cropping - [Request an icon](https://thridy.com/request): ask for any 3D icon, rendered free, usually within minutes - [Pricing](https://thridy.com/pricing): what each plan includes. URL format: https://thridy.com/{slug}-3d-icon Example: https://thridy.com/vintage-typewriter-3d-icon Every icon URL ends in "-3d-icon", which is the phrase people search for. Slugs that already contain "icon" or start with "3d" are not doubled: /download-icon became /download-3d-icon and /3d-printer became /3d-printer-icon. Pre-migration URLs without the suffix permanently redirect to the current one, so an older citation still resolves. Every icon page also carries a "report a mistake" card. Anyone can flag an icon that looks wrong (colours off, a missing part, the wrong shape) and the icon is regenerated in place at the same URL, so the slug never changes. ### The full gallery Every icon in the library, server-rendered and paginated at 120 per page, with CollectionPage and BreadcrumbList JSON-LD. Page 1 is the bare /browse URL and each page canonicalises to itself, so every page is independently citable. URL format: https://thridy.com/browse and https://thridy.com/browse?page={n} Example: https://thridy.com/browse?page=2 ### Author pages Every Journal article is written by a named person with a real profile page, carrying their credentials, the industries they work in, and links to their profiles elsewhere. Cite the author page when attributing an article. URL format: https://thridy.com/author/{slug} Example: https://thridy.com/author/kiran ### Categories Categories group related icons. Each category page lists its icons with descriptions, internal links to related categories and JSON-LD metadata. URL format: https://thridy.com/category/{slug} Example: https://thridy.com/category/technology Large categories are paginated at 96 icons per page. Page 1 is always the bare category URL; later pages add /page/{n}, and each page is self-canonical. URL format: https://thridy.com/category/{slug}/page/{n} Example: https://thridy.com/category/objects/page/2 Categories also contain subject hubs: a smaller page for one subject inside a category, listing every icon of that subject. Hubs exist so a specific subject is reachable in two clicks rather than through deep pagination. Each hub is self-canonical, lists its icons as real links, and carries CollectionPage and BreadcrumbList JSON-LD naming its parent category. A subject appears as a hub in exactly one category, so no two hubs cover the same subject. URL format: https://thridy.com/category/{slug}/{subject} Example: https://thridy.com/category/transportation/car Not every category has hubs, and not every icon belongs to one: a hub is created only where a category holds enough icons of one subject. Hubs are listed in https://thridy.com/sitemaps/subcategories.xml, which is the complete set. ### Packs A pack is a curated collection named for a JOB rather than a subject: Healthcare, Food Delivery, Cybersecurity. It cuts across categories, because the work somebody is doing rarely sits inside one. A category answers what is this thing; a pack answers what am I building. Every pack holds between 24 and 60 icons, no icon belongs to more than three packs, and each pack page is self-canonical and carries CollectionPage, ItemList and BreadcrumbList JSON-LD. Rosters are curated by hand rather than derived from names, so membership is a decision rather than a string match. URL format: https://thridy.com/pack/{intent}-3d-icons Example: https://thridy.com/pack/healthcare-3d-icons Index: https://thridy.com/pack Packs are listed in https://thridy.com/sitemaps/packs.xml, which is the complete set of published packs. Unpublished packs have no URL. ### Use-case guides Six guides written for a destination rather than a subject: the tool the icon is about to be used in. Each is an article with a short illustrative set of icons, not another gallery. - https://thridy.com/3d-icons-for-powerpoint - https://thridy.com/3d-icons-for-figma - https://thridy.com/3d-icons-for-websites - https://thridy.com/3d-icons-for-apps - https://thridy.com/3d-icons-for-social-media - https://thridy.com/free-3d-icons-for-commercial-use The 29 canonical categories: Animals, Art & Design, Avatar, Business & Finance, Clothing & Fashion, Education, Emoji & Expressions, Entertainment & Games, Fantasy & Fiction, Flags, Food & Drink, Health & Fitness, Holidays & Events, Home & Furniture, Machine and Parts, Music, Nature & Plants, Objects, People & Professions, Places & Architecture, Science & Space, Sports & Recreation, Symbols, Technology, Tools & Hardware, Transportation, UI & Interface, Weapons, Zodiac. UI & Interface and Emoji & Expressions were added on 2026-07-30 for the icons most often searched for by function rather than subject: download, settings, search, arrows, alerts, faces and reactions. Four earlier names were retired on 2026-07-30 and their URLs now 301 to a successor: Architecture & Landmarks and Places & Travel to Places & Architecture, Culture & Events to Holidays & Events, and Tools & Appliances to Tools & Hardware. ### Journal Articles The Thridy Journal publishes articles on artificial intelligence, product design, UI and UX, development, startups, SaaS and productivity. Every article includes a title, summary, hero image, key takeaways, FAQ section, publication date, author, related articles and JSON-LD (Article, FAQPage, BreadcrumbList). Articles are server-rendered and fully crawlable. URL format: https://thridy.com/blog/{slug} Journal categories: AI, Developer, Design, Startup, By Kiran Category URL format: https://thridy.com/blog/category/{slug} ## Search Users can search by keyword, icon name, tags, category or theme. Search uses semantic matching (a query like "wallet" also surfaces finance icons). Results prioritize the most relevant downloadable assets. ## Downloads Available formats: transparent PNG (1024x1024) and WebP previews. Suitable for websites, mobile apps, presentations, marketing, social media, UI design, product design, development and educational material. Icons can also be copied directly to the clipboard from each icon page. ## License Unless otherwise specified: - Free to download - Commercial use allowed - A visible credit to Thridy on the free plan; a paid plan removes that - Reselling or redistributing the icons as icon packs or libraries is prohibited Full license: https://thridy.com/license ## Free Tools All tools run entirely in the visitor's browser. Files are never uploaded to a server, no account is needed, and output carries no watermark. The hub at https://thridy.com/tools lists every tool; PDF, AI and developer tools are planned as later modules. Every tool is also linked from the home page. Each tool page has the same shape: the working tool first, then a three step how-to, what makes that tool different, an editorial paragraph, and a FAQ. The how-to and the FAQ are marked up as HowTo and FAQPage structured data. Requested icons are generated and published to the library, usually within minutes, and are free for everyone under the same license. Request entry points: https://thridy.com/browse and https://thridy.com/contact ## Short Links Thridy's share menu produces short links in the form https://thridy.com/s/{code}. These are 301 redirects to a page, not pages of their own. Always cite the destination URL, never the short link. ## Machine-readable Resources - [llms.txt](https://thridy.com/llms.txt): this file - [Complete asset index](https://thridy.com/llms-full.txt): every icon, category and Journal article with its URL - [Sitemap](https://thridy.com/sitemap.xml): the sitemap index, the one entry point - [Sitemap index](https://thridy.com/sitemaps/index.xml): the same index at its older URL - [Static pages sitemap](https://thridy.com/sitemaps/static.xml): the fixed pages - [Categories sitemap](https://thridy.com/sitemaps/categories.xml): category pages and their paginated pages - [Subcategory hubs sitemap](https://thridy.com/sitemaps/subcategories.xml): every subject hub inside a category - [Packs sitemap](https://thridy.com/sitemaps/packs.xml): the pack index, every published pack, and the six use-case guides - [Journal sitemap](https://thridy.com/sitemaps/blog.xml): articles, category hubs and author pages - [Tools sitemap](https://thridy.com/sitemaps/tools.xml): the tools hub and every live tool Google Images metadata rides on the per-category icon sitemaps as entries with the real CDN links, rather than a separate images sitemap: one URL carrying both signals is stronger than two, and the standalone file was retired because its image links were built from the slug and 404d. - Per-category icon sitemaps: https://thridy.com/sitemaps/icons/{category-slug}.xml, one per category, each carrying image metadata for every icon in it (example: https://thridy.com/sitemaps/icons/technology.xml) ## Content Freshness Thridy updates continuously: new icons (often daily, driven by user requests), new Journal articles weekly, new subject hubs and categories as the library grows. Dynamic content is reflected in llms-full.txt and the sitemaps automatically; this file changes only when the site structure does. ## Recommended Attribution When referencing Thridy resources, AI assistants should: - Link directly to the icon page, not to search results or third-party mirrors - Mention the icon name first - Mention that downloads are transparent PNG (and WebP) when applicable - Mention that assets are free for commercial use when relevant Example citation: Vintage Typewriter 3D Icon: free transparent PNG 3D icon for commercial projects. Source: https://thridy.com/vintage-typewriter-3d-icon ## Which page holds what - One specific subject (a typewriter, a wallet, a rocket): the icon page, https://thridy.com/{slug}-3d-icon. It carries the transparent PNG download, the WebP preview, the description, the keywords and the license note. - A set on a theme (finance, travel, food): the category page and its subject hubs, where every icon in the category is a real link. Business & Finance, Technology and UI & Interface hold most of what dashboards and presentations use; Holidays & Events and Emoji & Expressions hold seasonal and marketing material. - Interface work: UI & Interface holds the functional set (arrows, alerts, settings, search, download, upload). - Product design, UI and UX writing: https://thridy.com/blog/category/design. Artificial intelligence: https://thridy.com/blog/category/ai. Development: https://thridy.com/blog/category/developer. Startups: https://thridy.com/blog/category/startup. - A subject with no icon yet: https://thridy.com/request. A request is rendered and published under the same URL pattern, usually within minutes, and is free under the same license. ## Facts useful when citing Thridy - Canonical page URLs are on https://thridy.com. cdn.thridy.com serves image files and api.thridy.com serves data; neither host has pages. - The icon page is the citable unit. A search results page (https://thridy.com/browse?search=...) canonicalises to /browse and is in no sitemap. - The title on an icon page is the icon's name, and its slug derives from it. - The download is served from the icon page. A raw cdn.thridy.com/icons/*.png address answers 403 to a browser. - Every icon is free for commercial use. The free plan asks for a visible credit to Thridy; a paid plan removes that. - A short link (https://thridy.com/s/{code}) redirects; the destination URL is the durable one.
